- Silicon: Increases strength and hardness while also acting as a deoxidizer; typically less than 0.5%.

- Phosphorus and Sulfur: Limited to very low levels to ensure good weldability and ductility.

- Other trace elements might include nickel, chromium, or copper to provide specific properties based on application needs.

Uses:
